2014 marked an extraordinary day for Patek Philippe, one of the oldest-running Swiss watchmaking manufacturers without interruption as it celebrated its 175th anniversary. The brand is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and respected luxury watch brands in history, with a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design. Throughout its history, Patek Philippe has become synonymous with the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking.
To commemorate such a wondrous occasion, Patek Philippe released several limited edition watches, one of them being the watch present here: the Multi-scale Chronograph "175th Anniversary" Limited Edition ref. 5975G-001. The 40mm watch case is crafted with white gold complemented by a black alligator strap that contributes to the watch's already sophisticated and refined appearance and aura. The white dial has a smooth finish, and it features three distinct scales: a tachymeter scale which measures speed over a distance, a telemeter scale which measures the distance between an observer and a sound source and lastly a pulsometer scale, which measures heart rate. This is all possible due to the highly complex and precise movement, calibre CH 28-520, capable of 30m of water resistance, and approximately 55 hours of power reserve. On top of all the practical functions that the watch already provides, the movement also has chronograph and column wheel capabilities. The case back, however, is not transparent to transpire a vintage feeling to the watch, instead, Patek Philippe has engraved '175 Anniversaire 1839 - 2014', to celebrate the remarkable day. Limited to only 400 pieces, the Multi-scale Chronograph "175th Anniversary" is a true collector's item and a symbol of Patek Philippe's dedication to creating exquisite timepieces with both form and function. To own a timepiece like this is to have a piece of Patek Philippe's heritage and to be a part of its history.
